New Work 2010

What do you do when your camera is entering its sunset years, internal noise on the sensor making night work grainy and noisy?

It's the kind of challenge I enjoy, it still takes daylight work OK but everyone else works in daylight. A great challenge?

Open shutter daylight photography seems to have been the abrupt decision taken here at Stanley Mission on the the Churchill River System in Canada, deep in woods that have been here a long time. It catches the mood.
I am offering these images as one off original prints, if you would like to purchase one send me an email please, and I will print and sign, on return. They are called "Spirit of the Woods", I have not named the individual prints, they number left to right, top to bottom.

As these are original prints the resolution of the images here is low, I apologise but this prevents copying. The originals are glorious, and detailed.

Open shutter photography is just what it says, the shutter is open while the image is taken. There is no manipulation afterwards, the image is taken in a single exposure.

While not easy, it is very unusual, and extraordinarily challenging.
